Welding Company Launches New Division

Goscor Arc, a corporate member of the Southern African Institute of Welding, has launched a new division which will focus on Lincoln Electric branded Gas Welding and Cutting apparatus.

The new equipment is manufactured in the Lincoln owned Harris facilities in Europe, which are world renowned for their gas and welding cutting quality, and will be distributed by Goscor Arc under the Lincoln Electric brand.

Rob Pirie, Goscor Arc MD says he is pleased to have the world’s leading equipment in this segment and sees a growing market for it in South Africa.

“The new Lincoln Electric products are an excellent fit in our company alongside the other world-leading products we have distributed for the last 75 years,” Pirie says.

Goscor Arc, part of the Goscor group of companies, distributes welding and cutting equipment consumables and solutions for ESAB and Lincoln Electric, the two largest welding companies in the world.

Such is Pirie’s confidence in the new Gas Welding and Cutting division, he has employed a specialist team of experienced support staff even before the first products have arrived in his warehouse.

“We’re off to a running start with this division with our team having already undergone extensive training on the full range of equipment,” says Pirie.

He adds that the specialist team has a total of more than 60 years experience in the Gas Welding and Cutting industry and comprises industry stalwart Apie Pens, 37 years in the industry, sales and admin manager Edward Mogane, 20 years and after-sales technical expert, Andries Nkosi, more than 10 years.

“With this type of experience and our obsession with in-house training on our products we will be able to raise the bar of service in this industry, which has been sadly lacking in this country for some years now,” says Pirie.

Nahanni Nagle, regional manager of Lincoln Electric Sub-Saharan Africa, says he is confident that Goscor Arc will fulfil Pirie’s vision for this new division. “Given the type of world-class service Goscor Arc has produced on our other products there is no reason why the same levels will not be reached by them with the new Gas and Welding apparatus, he said.

Goscor Arc has, since 1934, provided innovative solutions to a wide range of leading OEMs, welding fabricators and contractors whatever they may be welding including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum or hard facing. Its offering includes custom-made solutions, state of the art equipment to implement them and superior technical support and after sales service.

Goscor Arc’s head office is in Johannesburg with fully equipped branches in Vanderbijl Park, Richards Bay, Cape Town and Durban.
